Water purification by sedimentation. How to purify water at home: filters and folk methods

At home, you can purify water using household filters, freezing, settling, boiling, as well as a combination of all these and some other methods.

Spring water does not flow from our taps. This problem has been going on for more than a decade, and there is still no global solution. Perhaps, somewhere in a distant country, foreign utilities have already found a way to bring a "clean tear" into their homes. And we just have to look for our own methods of water purification for each individual apartment.

Why can't you leave it as it is?

The quality of tap water is far from any sanitary and simply human standards. Chlorination, or at best fluoridation, relieves it of infectious agents, but does not at all save it from additives such as pesticides, nitrates, and heavy metal salts.

Although industrial methods of water purification should become more perfect from year to year, in reality only the MPC standards change. The concentrations of harmful substances allowed for domestic water are artificially high and simply legalize the chemical "cocktail" that goes into our taps.

Cleaning options

There are a lot of home-made ways of how to purify water from harmful or simply unwanted impurities, but each of them fights with one group of substances or organisms. Therefore, in order to obtain the desired result, it is often necessary to take a whole range of measures.

Water purification at home is possible by several methods, but it is important to understand the physics of each process, since it is quite difficult to ideally divide the liquid into drinking and technical.

Water purification by settling

This method allows not only to separate the heavy sediment, it also gives the water time to self-purify from volatile ammonia and chlorine compounds. To make the process as efficient as possible, the water is settled in a container with a wide top and without a lid for at least 8 hours. Then you can pour it into a clean container, trying not to mix the layers, and pour out the bottom quarter altogether.

After each settling, rinse the sides and bottom of the main vessel with a solution of acetic or citric acid to remove limescale.

Filters for water

At one time, there was a boom in various filtration systems, the manufacturers of which promised problem-free water softening at home and almost 100% cleaning result. Gradually, the less effective ones dropped out, and the most reliable methods continue to be used in everyday life:

  • Capacitive filter jugs are quite versatile, since they can accommodate cassettes with different degrees of water purification. The main thing is not to forget to change them regularly.
  • Multilevel filtration systems - show themselves the best, but also cost accordingly. But they simultaneously use different methods of water purification, freeing it not only from debris, but also from chlorine, suspension of rust, some types of bacteria and viruses.

Boiling

The method is as old as the world, and effective not only for the destruction of pathogens. During boiling, calcium salts are removed from the water. True, they do not disappear at all, but settle on the inner surface of the kettle, after which they have to be removed from the dishes. Other solutes cannot be neutralized in this way, and purification of water from odor during boiling is impossible.

For rough preparation and disinfection of at least 50-70 percent, water should boil for at least 10-15 minutes, since most pathogens do not die immediately. A higher result of the destruction of pathogens by 98-99% requires even more time - about half an hour. And in the case of anthrax, you will have to boil the water for at least an hour. So an electric kettle with auto shutdown is definitely not suitable for these purposes.

But boiling also has a downside. Most urban water purification plants resort to chlorination in the old fashioned way, and after boiling, chlorine residues turn into a dangerous carcinogen - chloroform. In addition, the natural decrease in the volume of water increases the percentage of other impurities in it. So this method should be used only in a rigid bundle with settling, and double - before and after boiling.

Distillation

Simply put - evaporation. The same boiling, but the resulting steam will have to be collected. You will need a homemade water purification device that works like a distillation apparatus. The construction can be the simplest:

  • closed container for boiling;
  • steam outlet pipe;
  • cooling coil;
  • container for collecting distilled water.

In this case, all harmful substances will remain in the evaporator tank, and ideally clean water will collect in the condensing coil. It tastes, of course, unpleasant, and it is not worth using the distillate regularly - after all, the supply of minerals in human body replenished including drinking water. Moreover, the distilled liquid will dissolve useful salts already in the cells and flush out the substances necessary for normal life.

Silver and copper cleaning

Our distant ancestors knew how to purify water and make it safe. At least those who were rich enough to "drink and eat on silver." The disinfecting effect of pure Argentum is really widely known, but only precious metal is needed, not technical or even jewelry, which comes with additions of low-melting copper. In a silver bowl, the water is defended for about a day. If there is no such container, you can simply put a silver object in a regular container.

Copper kitchen utensils give a similar effect, but it is not recommended to keep water in it for more than 4 hours. Otherwise, instead of a disinfected liquid, you will receive a solution of poisonous compounds that have passed from copper.

Freezing

A surprisingly effective way to partially get rid of pathogenic bacteria and almost completely remove dissolved salts from the liquid. In this case, no complex device for water purification is required, except for a fairly spacious freezer.

The liquid from the tap must be poured into plastic bottles, but not to the very neck, but leaving a couple of centimeters free. As it freezes, the water will increase in volume and may break the container. For the same reason, glass cannot be used at all.

Send the prepared containers to the freezer, but monitor the condition of the water. When half to two-thirds of the volume freezes, the leftovers must be poured out - they contain a large number of mineral impurities that do not allow the liquid to quickly solidify at 0 ° C. Ice can be thawed and used as intended, or additional water purification methods can be applied to improve the result.

Ozonation

Safe methods of purification, aimed specifically at disinfecting water, are used in modern ozonation systems. Enough 20 minutes of operation of such a device to destroy most harmful microbes. This effect persists for some time, so it is very useful to wash with ozonized water. foodstuffs so that they also become safe for humans.

Infusion on minerals (flint, shungite)

The method is very similar to settling tap water in a separate container, but with the addition of minerals. Silicon for water purification should be taken smaller so that the total surface area of the stones is maximized. It has a disinfecting effect and even benefits the body. has a rejuvenating, immunostimulating effect, strengthens the walls of blood vessels.

You can buy this wonderful mineral at a pharmacy, but it is not difficult to use it: pour water and leave to infuse for a day or two. Silicon attracts impurities and pathogenic microbes, so only the upper layers of water can be used, otherwise the whole point of cleaning is lost. After that, the precipitate is removed and the next portion is poured. But first, inspect the pebbles so that there is no thin coating on them. If the silicon is dirty, it must be washed under running water with a clean toothbrush.

Shungite for the same purposes is recommended to be taken larger - for each liter of liquid, one 100-gram stone is needed. Cooking is almost the same as a recipe silicon water: infusion for 3 days and transfusion of the upper layers. The mineral needs to be cleaned every six months.

Shungite water should not be drunk by people prone to oncology, blood clots and high acidity of gastric juice.

Traditional methods

Many plants common in our latitudes also have cleansing properties. For example, when using rowan branches, even complete purification of water from the smell is possible - you just need to put fresh cuttings in it for a couple of hours. Willow bark, juniper and bird cherry leaves give the same bactericidal effect after 12 hours.

For quick cleaning of harmful impurities, use activated carbon at the rate of 1 tablet per glass. After a quarter of an hour, the water can be filtered and disinfected. Alternatively, use a homemade charcoal filter, laying several layers of cheesecloth with crushed powder. Alternatively, simply wrap the tablets in a clean piece of bandage and leave in a container of water overnight.

Tap water is considered safe, but many still prefer to "play it safe" - install additional filters for water or boil it before drinking.

You can find out how safe the liquid you drink is only in the laboratory.

However, some signs of poor-quality water can be determined by eye and thanks to the olfactory and taste buds.

What's wrong with tap water?

Drinking tap water is undesirable, and sometimes even dangerous. There are too many chloride compounds in it. According to the regulations, chlorine should be up to 0.5 milligrams per liter of water. This amount is considered safe for humans and at the same time effective in combating bacteria and microbes.

Since 1904, mankind has been chlorinating water to protect against infections. Unfortunately, this is not an ideal solution - for 50 years of life with tap water, a person drinks 16 kilograms of chlorides, 2 kilograms of nitrates and 2 tablespoons of aluminum.

In such water, there is often rust - water pipes are in most cases old and metal, iron oxide dissolves in water and is present in the form of small particles.
A direct result of drinking this water is kidney stones.

Tap water can mix with sewers. According to the Russian Association for Water Supply and Sanitation, the depreciation of water supply systems in Russia is approximately 58%. Sewer and water pipes are laid side by side, in the same boxes, and they can rot so much that by opening the tap, you will see brown water flowing.
It is absolutely forbidden to drink it.

In addition, the quality of tap water depends on its hardness - the amount of calcium and magnesium salts, as well as the admixture of iron and other minerals.

You should not drink tap water if:

The water is cloudy;
- if the shade is greenish, rusty, yellowish or any other;
- if the filter with a replaceable cassette has turned yellow (perhaps this is due to worn-out pipes and, as a result, the ingress of rust and iron into the water);
- the water has a specific smell;
- after the water has settled, you see an abundant sediment;
- the water tastes bad.

How to purify water at home?

I think it is no longer a secret for anyone that the water that flows from our tap does not have the quality and purity that our body needs. If you have a filter, all you have to do is change the cartridges regularly to make sure the water you drink is exceptionally healthy.

But, so that you know, it is in our power to purify water at home without spending a lot of money on filters and cartridges, but using fairly simple methods.

Drinking water quality can be improved at home in several ways:

❧ Defending.
You need to pour tap water into a glass dish and stand for six to seven hours. During this time, volatile chlorine, along with other volatile impurities, will evaporate (it is good if you periodically stir the water - this will help the "volatilization" process to occur more intensively).

However, salts of heavy metals from the settled water will not go anywhere, at best they settle to the bottom. Therefore, when you use this water, pour out 2/3 of its contents without shaking, so that the sediment at the bottom does not mix with more or less purified water.

❧ Filtering.
Pass the water through any filter. This can be a filter jug with a replaceable cassette, a tap attachment and a filter for a cold water riser.
There are many types of water filters on the market and prices vary widely.
When filtering water at home with capacitive filters, the main thing is to change the filter on time. Be sure to pay attention to the characteristics of the filter: how many liters of water can they purify, and control this amount.

If you do not change the filter during the time, then the harmful components accumulated in it will go into the purified water, that is, the water will not only not be purified, but the harmfulness accumulated by the filter will also be added to it.

It is best to filter water at home with multi-level filters, but they also have serious prices.
Water with such a filter is first purified from mechanical impurities, precipitation, chlorine, colloidal solutions and iron oxides. And then, thanks to the reverse osmosis membrane of the filter, bacteria and viruses are removed from the water.

The multi-level filter purifies water by 99%. This figure is much higher than that of chlorinated water, not to mention the disadvantages of chlorination, which are listed above.
Water purified by such a filter is similar in composition to spring water.

❧ Boiling .
To boil water, use a regular kettle, not an electric one: the water will boil more slowly, but there will be much less scale. For cleansing, simple boiling is generally enough.
You need to boil water for at least 10-15 minutes. Only in this case a significant part of microorganisms perishes.

However, this method has its drawbacks. Heavy metal salts are often present in our water. When boiling, water evaporates, and the concentration of salts in it increases. They are deposited on the walls of the kettle in the form of scale and lime and then enter the human body.

❧ Freezing.
In this way, it will be possible to purify not too large volumes of water, but it will be really clean. Pour tap water into plastic bottles (not glass bottles and jars!)
Fill it with water, not reaching 1-2 cm to the edge, to leave a free volume, since water increases its volume when freezing. Do you remember glass water bottles that burst in the frost? And put the bottle in the freezer.
When about half of the water in the bottle is frozen, drain the rest, and remove the bottle of ice from the freezer and let the ice melt naturally.

Freezing is mainly used to remove excess salts from water. This method is based on the principle that pure water freezes at a higher temperature faster than water containing salts.
When pure water first freezes, a so-called brine remains between the ice crystals, that is, a mixture of water and salts. Accordingly, the "brine" is drained, not allowing it to freeze, and pure ice is melted, obtaining purified water.
True, if the freezing temperature was too low, it may happen that not only pure water, but also the "brine" freezes.

Please note that the ice in the bottle is clear. Cloudy ice should not be used as it may contain harmful substances.

❧ About cleaning with silver.
Silver ions, due to its bactericidal effect, perfectly purify water. You can use any silver product, the best of all is 999 samples: dip it into a container of water and leave it overnight or for 8-10 hours.

Even an ordinary silver spoon dipped in a container of water can improve its properties.

However, silver ions accumulate, as a result of which an excess of it may occur in the body, and this will negatively affect the metabolism.
So try to consume more than just "silver" water.

❧ Purification with activated carbon.
Activated carbon is used in most filters used for water purification. After passing through it, the taste and smell of the water is improved, since it adsorbs most of the harmful impurities contained in the water.

You can make something like a filter yourself: just place activated charcoal tablets (at the rate of 1 tablet per 1 liter of water) in a cloth or gauze bag, put it in a container and pour tap water there.
It is enough to hold the charcoal in water for 12 hours to make the water purified.
You need to change such a charcoal filter 1-2 times a week.

❧ Cleansing with iodine.
Along with activated carbon, iodine is also present in many cleaning systems. It has a detrimental effect on pathogens found in fresh water.

It works best when the water is at room temperature or hot. If the tap water collected is transparent, then 1 liter will need to add 5 drops of iodine, if it is cloudy, then 10 drops.
The water settles for half an hour, then you can drink it.

❧ Purification with silicon.
Silicon, with its bactericidal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, is the best natural tap water filter. Silicon has a positive effect on the functioning of the digestive tract and metabolism, removes toxins, carcinogens and other substances harmful to health from our body.
Silicon can be purchased in pharmacies and online stores / pharmacies.

Silicon is preliminarily well washed, placed in a container, filled with water. Cover the jar with gauze and place in the light, but away from direct sunlight and leave for 2-3 days (at least a day).

Calculate the size of a silicon pebble 3-10g per 1-5 liters of water. And do not drink the water to the bottom, carefully drain it into another vessel, leaving 3-5 centimeters of water with sediment.
Once a week, it is necessary to clean the silicon crystals from plaque.

If there is no flint in the house, then water can be infused with Jerusalem artichoke. It has the highest percentage of silicon among vegetables - 8.1.
Radish ranks second in terms of the amount of silicon. It has a slightly lower silicon content - 6.5%.

❧ Cleansing with shungite.
Recently, water purification is becoming popular with another stone called shungite. It is recommended to purchase large stones, then they will not need to be replaced with new ones, although, of course, once every six months they need to be well cleaned with a brush, hard sponge or sandpaper.

Shungite water is prepared as follows: 100 gram stone is placed in a liter of water (if you need more, then take more than one stone), for 3 days, no more, shungite water insists, after which it is drained in the same way as when preparing silicon water.

Shungite water has contraindications: a tendency to cancer, thrombus formation, high acidity and diseases in the acute stage.

In which countries is it possible and in which it is impossible to drink tap water?

There are many countries where water quality is monitored throughout the entire water cycle. For example, in Holland, chlorine is absolutely not used, and in Austria or Switzerland, about 90 percent of drinking water is free of chlorine.

In Finland, you can also drink water directly from the tap. At treatment facilities, it is treated with ferrous sulfate, then exposed only to ozone for disinfection.

In France, water is also treated with ozone, passed through sand filters, then ozonized again and purified using granular activated carbon filters. The authorities provide tax breaks to those who do the best at treating water.

In Italy, you can drink water not only from the tap, but even from a fountain on the street. The quality of water in the country is checked regularly.

The highest standards are applied to tap water in Germany. Modern treatment facilities have been installed throughout the country.

The non-profit organization Water.org publishes a list of countries annually where tap water is not recommended. The three most dangerous countries are Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Chad. Things are not doing well in Ghana, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, India and Haiti.
based on materials

Everyone knows about the importance of clean water for our health. If we regularly use high quality water, it will become a real possibility to avoid the occurrence of many diseases, including quite serious diseases. In addition, the quality of the water influences the taste of the dishes prepared with it. You can buy expensive sorts of coffee or tea, however, cooking them with bad water, all their value and taste will be lost forever.

Chlorinated water in our pipes is able to protect us from dangerous viruses and microbes, but chlorine itself is harmful to us: it destroys the protein structures of our body, worsens the condition of the mucous membranes in the body, kills beneficial bacteria in the intestines, which contributes to and provokes the appearance of various allergic reactions. In addition, chlorine does not kill pinworm eggs and lamblia cysts.

Home water purification methods

  1. The simplest and most well-known method of water purification is its boiling... When high temperature affects water, it is sterilized and the water is purified of microorganisms (viruses, microbes) - this effect can only be obtained by boiling water for a quarter of an hour, without covering it with a lid, so that harmful compounds are removed with steam.

  • But, firstly, chlorine compounds in such water still remain, turning into hazardous to health: the carcinogen chloroform, which causes cancer,
  • secondly, parts of the salts settle on the walls of the dishes in which you boil water (I think you saw them on the walls of your kettle), it turns out that when boiling we got soft water, in which the level of salts, nitrates and heavy metals became higher, than in a regular tap,
  • and thirdly, not in vain boiled water called "", it does not bring any benefit to the human body.
  1. An equally simple method of water purification is its banal upholding... They just poured water into the vessel, let it stand for 8 hours - during this time, volatile chlorine, along with other volatile impurities, will evaporate (it is good if you periodically stir the water - this will help the "volatilization" process to occur more intensively). However, salts of heavy metals from the settled water will not go anywhere, at best they settle to the bottom. Therefore, when you use this water, pour out 2/3 of its contents without shaking, so that the sediment at the bottom does not mix with more or less purified water.
  2. Water purification can be carried out using ordinary table salt... You can fill the container with tap water (2 liters) and dissolve 1 tablespoon in it. with a top of salt. After 15-25 minutes. such water will be free of harmful microorganisms and heavy metal salts.

The disadvantage of this method is that this water should not be consumed daily.

  1. Freezing- today it is an increasingly popular method of water purification, which, moreover, is considered also the most effective. Water is poured into the container (some use a saucepan, some use plastic containers, but do not use glass), and do not pour water "with the top", leave a small space free, as the liquid can expand in volume when it freezes.

Pure fresh water will freeze faster than water with salt impurities. Therefore, watch out, when the water is half frozen in the container, pour out the unfrozen liquid (it contains all harmful impurities), and melt the frozen water - it can be drunk and used for cooking.

Thawed (melt) water, drunk immediately after defrosting, is extremely healing, capable of accelerating many recovery processes in the body, increasing efficiency, alleviating allergies, dermatitis, itching,.

  1. You can buy a small piece at the pharmacy silicon and with its help purify water from impurities. Rinse the silicon well in warm running water, put it in a 2-liter jar and pour cold water, cover the jar with gauze and put it in the light, but away from direct sunlight. After two to three days, the purified water is ready. Calculate the size of a silicon pebble 3-10g per 1-5 liters of water. And do not drink the water to the bottom, carefully drain it into another vessel, leaving 3-5 centimeters of water with sediment.
  2. Recently, water purification is becoming popular with another stone called shungite... It is recommended to purchase large stones, then they will not need to be replaced with new ones, although, of course, once every six months they need to be well cleaned with a brush, hard sponge or sandpaper.

Shungite water is prepared as follows: a 100 gram stone is placed in a liter of water (if you need more, then take more than one stone), for 3 days, no more, the shungite infuses the liquid, after which it is drained in the same way as when preparing silicon water.

Shungite water has contraindications: a tendency to cancer, thrombus formation, high acidity and diseases in the acute stage.

  1. If you do not have a water filter, you can use activated carbon... Indeed, most filters are based on coal. This product is not only an excellent neutralizer of unpleasant odors (old rusty pipes, for example, or bleach), but, like a sponge, coal can absorb harmful substances from tap water.

Just wrap activated charcoal tablets in cheesecloth (at the rate of 1 tablet per 1 liter of water) and place in a bowl of water. The very next morning (after 8 hours) you will have clean water ready.

  1. About cleansing properties silver we have known for a long time. Silver can be used to purify water, freeing it from chemical compounds and harmful microbes and viruses. Simply place a silver coin or spoon in a container of water overnight. In the morning (after 10-12 hours) you will have purified water, ready to use.

Silver has surpassed carbolic acid and bleach in terms of antibacterial effect, and, moreover, its beneficial features water with silver retains for a long time.

  1. Folk remedies for water purification, there are also:
  • Cleansing with a bunch of rowan: it is worth immersing it in water for two or three hours, and you will get a pure liquid, competing in quality with water purified with silver and activated carbon.
  • Cleansing with willow bark, onion husks, juniper branches and bird cherry leaves is also effective and good for obtaining clean water, only the cleaning process will take 12 hours.
  • Purification with vinegar, iodine, wine. For 1 liter of water the proportions: 1 tsp. vinegar, or 3 drops of 5% iodine, or 300 g of young dry white wine. All these "additives" are placed in water for 2-6 hours. The downside is that chlorine and some microbes still remain in the water.

  1. Many people try to replenish the required amount of water in the body. distilled water... Yes, you will not find harmful impurities in it, but it does not give any benefit to the body, in addition, such water does not have any taste. Plus, with the constant use of distilled water, the minerals and salts we need are washed out of the body.
  2. We will also consider another method of how to purify water at home, which is gaining popularity, but also causing some doubts - purification magnets... Ordinary water is poured into the dishes, they are wrapped around it with magnets and left for 3-5 hours. There is even a recommendation to gird the water pipe supplying water to the tap with magnets.

You can be sure that such a method will not purify water from microbes and bleach, at best, it will magnetize iron salts and purify water from this mineral, and this can only be assumed theoretically ...

Other options for water purification: a household filter in the form of a jug (it uses a carbon-silicon filter), capable of removing chlorine and toxic metals from water, provided that you change the cartridges every month, various nozzles and, of course, stationary filters. With their many advantages, they have a disadvantage - a considerable price. Although, of course, from which side to look, because the most valuable investment is in your own health ...

What methods and methods of water purification do you use?

Types of cleaning methods

Conventionally, all methods of water purification can be divided into the following groups:

  1. Purification by folk methods.
  2. Cleansing by boiling, settling, freezing.
  3. Filtration using cleaning materials.

Let's dwell on each of them in detail. Let's mark the pros and cons.

Cleansing ingredients

  1. Salt. A method of water purification available to all. For 2 liters of liquid, take 2 tablespoons of table salt, dissolve them in water. We leave the resulting solution for 20 minutes. Salt will make our water free from heavy metals and harmful microorganisms.
  2. Activated carbon. Another budget-friendly way to get clean water. Activated carbon is an excellent absorbent, it perfectly, like a sponge, absorbs all harmful impurities and unpleasant odors. Wrap 5 tablets of activated carbon in cheesecloth, place it on the bottom of a container with water. The coal will start to work. After 5-6 hours, remove the gauze from the container and feel free to drink the resulting water. This method can be used not only at home, but also in field conditions.
  3. Silver. Our ancestors also noticed that those people who ate food from silver cutlery were less likely to get sick. As before, not everyone can afford to buy a pure silver table service today. This is a fairly expensive purchase. But anyone can purify water with silver. Silver not only disinfects water, but also has a beneficial effect on human immunity, metabolic processes in the body. Place any piece of silver in a jar of water. It can be a piece of jewelry, a spoon, manufacturers have now even begun to produce special ionizers made of silver (it can be made in the form of a fish on a chain, for example). After 2-3 days, the water becomes fully ionized.
  4. Shungite. It is a natural mineral that is able to condition water, making it from tap water. First, carefully wash the stone, then fill it with two liters of water. We leave for 3 days. Pour the resulting water into a clean vessel, and wash the shungite itself with a hard sponge. Periodically, the stone will need to be replaced with a new one.
  5. Pharmaceutical silicon. Like shungite, we first thoroughly rinse the silicon under warm running water. Then we place the pebble in a container of water, let it be a three-liter jar. Close the neck with gauze and place the vessel in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight. After 3 days, we pour our water into a clean container, also leaving 3 cm of water at the bottom.

DIV_ADBLOCK40 ">

Let's say a few words about distilled water. Experts say that it is dangerous for humans to regularly quench their thirst with such water. Yes, this water does not contain harmful impurities and pathogens, it tastes like bottled water from a store, but it is able to remove vitamins and minerals from our tissues. Therefore, it is better to use distilled water for its intended purpose: in medicine, cosmetology, for technical purposes.

If none of the above methods work for you, we advise you to purchase a simple jug with a replacement cartridge. It does not require installation (like stationary filters), does not take up much space (fits even in the smallest kitchen), and copes with its function perfectly. You just have to change the replacement cartridge in time. And you need to make this replacement at least 1 time in 3-4 weeks. Otherwise, the cartridge itself will become a source of danger for the whole family. It will absorb a huge amount of harmful impurities that have accumulated over a month of work. And the water passing through it will be dirtier and more dangerous than tap water.

There are many completely reliable household water filters that will solve the problem. These are filters for drinking water that are built into the sink, nozzles for the faucet, filter jugs, installations for pre-treatment of water throughout the apartment. But when the filter is out of order, and the problem needs to be solved at least for a while, we recall simpler ways to purify tap water.

Upholding

Chlorinated tap water tastes and smells unpleasant. But chlorination is necessary to neutralize microorganisms present in the water. To neutralize the microorganisms present in the water, it is chlorinated. It is not recommended to drink chlorinated water, chlorine has the ability to accumulate in the body and, during boiling, forms very harmful chemical compounds. Chlorine can be neutralized by settling the water. Simply pour tap water into a large container and let sit for 7-8 hours. Impurities of heavy metals and chlorine compounds will evaporate during this time. Important! Use ¾ separated water for drinking and food, pour out the rest.

ICE FILTER

A simple method of preparing melt water at home is suitable for those who have a spacious freezer. Cold water in plastic bottles should be placed in the freezer and wait until about half of it is frozen. In the middle of the volume, non-frozen water remains, which is poured out. The ice is thawed and used for drinking. The idea of this method of water purification is that first pure water freezes, and most of the impurities remain in the solution. Even sea ice is mostly fresh water, despite the fact that it forms on the surface of a salt water body. It is important to know: you can only use the water from which transparent ice is obtained. If the ice looks cloudy, the water from it is saturated with harmful substances. Therefore, doctors recommend defrosting and drinking only clear clear ice. Melt water from it is very beneficial for the skin, so you can actively use it for washing.

Silicon enrichment

Silicon has strong bactericidal properties, in fact it is the best natural water filter, but the question is - where to get it? Silicon can be purchased at some drugstores or ordered online. Its cost is not great - 230-250 rubles for 150 g. In addition, silicon also has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal properties, improves metabolism, has a beneficial effect on the work of the gastrointestinal tract, preventing the occurrence of pathologies, promotes the rapid elimination of toxins from the body , toxins, carcinogens and other harmful substances. Before using silicon for the first time, you must thoroughly rinse it with running water, then fill it with water and leave for 2-3 days. It is necessary to drink in small portions, at least 2-3 glasses a day. Periodically (once a week) the crystals must be washed to remove the formed plaque.

Purification with activated carbon

Activated carbon is a part of household bulk filters for water purification. It is an effective water purifier that makes your tap water taste and smell better. since coal absorbs almost all the harmful substances found in tap water. To purify water using activated carbon, you need to place a home-made filter in the form of a cloth or gauze bag filled with activated carbon - powder, granular or in tablets on a container with water (tablets must first be crushed). True, such an improvised filter cannot be used for a long time; it requires replacement after a few days.

Silver cleansing

The ions contained in silver actively purify water. Silver has bactericidal properties, so you can pour water into a large glass container, place a silver object (with a 999 test) inside and let the water stand for 8-10 hours. The only thing is that it is not recommended to drink only such water, silver - silver toxins can accumulate, creating an excess of silver in the body, which can lead to metabolic disorders.
